Getting Started

1. Install VoxTube

Install VoxTube from the Chrome Web Store. Click "Add to Chrome" — it's free and takes a few seconds.

2. Open a YouTube Video

Navigate to any YouTube video. You'll see a VoxTube translate button appear in the video player controls.

3. Start Translating

Click the translate button, choose your target language and voice, and the AI dubbing will start within seconds. You can also press Alt+V to toggle.

4. Customize Settings

Click the VoxTube icon in your Chrome toolbar to open the popup. Go to the Settings tab to change language, voice, and volume preferences.

Troubleshooting

Try these steps:

  • Refresh the YouTube page
  • Make sure the extension is enabled in chrome://extensions
  • Check that you're on a YouTube video page (not the homepage or search)
  • Disable other extensions that may conflict with YouTube's player

Common causes:

  • No subtitles available — VoxTube requires the video to have subtitles or auto-generated captions
  • Daily limit reached — Free users get 5 translations per day. Check your usage in the popup
  • Network issue — Check your internet connection and try again
  • Server maintenance — Wait a few minutes and retry

Audio sync usually fixes itself within a few seconds. If not:

  • Pause and resume the video
  • Seek to a different position
  • Toggle translation off and on again (press Alt+V twice)

If sign-in fails:

  • Make sure you're signed into Chrome with a Google account
  • Allow the pop-up when Chrome asks for permission
  • Try signing out of Chrome and back in
  • Disable other extensions temporarily to rule out conflicts

You can cancel anytime:

  • Open the VoxTube popup in Chrome
  • Go to the Home tab → click "Manage" on your subscription card
  • You'll be taken to the Lemon Squeezy portal to manage or cancel
  • Your access continues until the end of the current billing period

VoxTube works on Chromium-based desktop browsers: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Arc. Mobile browsers and Firefox are not supported at this time.
